Synopsis
1951 an explosion of
nuclear proportion sets off in the state of Alaska. There are no casualties, no
damage and most of all anyone caught up in the blast radius is alive. Several
weeks later Alaska is declared an independent state by one Andrew Susan.
Citizens of the newly formed country are prohibited to leave under penalty of
death. In the weeks to come America’s retaliates in an act of war. This proves
to be ineffective, entry into the state resulted in an explosion similar to the
one which started the events to come. There are many casualties but no bodies
were found; it was almost as if everyone had disappeared out of thin air. This
point in time will be referred to as 2nd impact.
It’s the year 1957,
no one has entered the state of Alaska since 2nd impact, and
citizens of the state are believed to be dead. We find our protagonist John
Larson Journalist and war veteran aboard a plane to the very site where it all
happened, a facility in anchorage, Alaska as he goes on to investigate what
happened in 1951 and what happened to the people caught up in 2nd
impact. However Larson isn’t just for the fame and glory, he has also been
tasked to find someone who may or may not have caused the incident by his
mysterious source who claims that the Manhattan Project; the development of the
A bomb was a cover up for something more destructive. This source believes that
exact thing and the 1951 Alaskan explosion and the events that follow all ties
back towards the Manhattan project and J. Robert Oppenheimer, "father of
the atomic bomb" who disappeared on the day of the 1951 Alaskan explosion.
When Larson enters the states airspace his plane suddenly crashes
in the city of anchorage, however Larson miraculously survives the crash only
to find himself surrounded by a barren and empty town. However not all is as it
seems as Larson comes in contact by a mysterious voice via radio with the
transmission warning him to run. Shortly after listing to the radio
transmission Larson is ambushed and by a group of militia run by Andrew Susan.
Whilst interrogating Larson it becomes apparent that Susan in fact knows who
Larson is almost so as if they’ve met. However this interrogation is soon
broken as Larson is rescued by the mystery voice on the radio. On the run from
Susan’s militia Larson encounters the first of many horrors he will soon
encounter while in his stay as he is attacked by an irradiated citizen of the 2nd
impact explosion. The effects of the radiation cause the human body to shift
between the past, present and future, prolonged effect to this and it causes
the mind to go insane and violent, however even longer contact with this 2nd
impact radiation have not been encountered yet. With nothing but his revolver
and his determination John Larson must survive Susan’s militia and the
irradiated people of anchorage to get down to the bottom of the 1951 explosion and
its ties to the Manhattan project.
A fantastically detailed idea, Chris. Make sure that you opt for something viable - i.e. something you can realistically shoot around here!
