Breakdown of the film title of Memento
The word Memento means an object that serves to remind one of a person or a past event,this idea of memories links in with the protaginist played by guy pierce; a man who suffers from anterograde amnesia which disables him from storing any new memories after the event which gave him annesia, when he was attacked by two men.

- A polaroid photo connotes precious memories, which link in with the meaning of the title however this contrasted by the image within the photo; a blood stained wall which connotes murder a thriller connvention. We the audience can establish that the genre of this filmis a thriller and not in fact a horror as if it were to be a horror the imagery of blood would be far more exaggerated and the shot itself would be much darker.
- The hand connotes someone inspecting this photo as if they are a homicde detective, this allows the audience to identify this genre as a crime thriller.
